MAX GABOVITCH | CO-SPORTS EDITOR The Butler men’s basketball surpassed expectations last year amidst a tumultuous beginning to its season. This year, the ceiling has been raised for the Bulldogs. The team is ranked No. 22 in the national preseason coaches’ poll and was picked by Big East coaches to finish third in the conference.

Volleyball wins in four sets at St. John’s

Men’s Soccer Falls 1-0 to DePaul

DANA LEE | STAFF REPORTER The Butler men’s soccer team was unable to overcome an early goal from DePaul on Wednesday night, losing 1-0 at the Butler Bowl. The lone goal came in the eighth minute, when DePaul’s Jake Scheper was able to capitalize on a Butler turnover, shooting the ball from the right side.

Football comes up short against Dayton

MARISA MILLER | STAFF REPORTER The Butler football team fell in the final minutes of the fourth quarter on a 50-yard rushing touchdown to give Dayton the 27-24 win on Saturday night.
