Like most faculty who knew him personally, I was saddened and shocked to learn of former President Bobby Fong’s passing due to a sudden heart attack.

While at Butler, he championed high academic standards and encouraged personal contact.

He was kind, decent and very much a humanitarian who had his flaws like most of us, but, like most faculty, he worked daily to make Butler a better university.

He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Suzanne.
