Swimming competes in weekend doubleheader

The Butler swim team had a busy weekend, competing in two meets on back-to-back days. The Bulldogs faced crosstown rival Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and intrastate rival Valparaiso last Friday at IUPUI Natatorium. Swimming finishes fifth at Indiana Intercollegiates

The Butler swim team finished fifth out of seven schools in the Indiana Intercollegiates meet at Purdue Oct. 26. Colleges with teams participating were Butler, Purdue, University of Indianapolis, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Wabash College, Evansville, Depauw and Valparaiso. Purdue sent everyone else home with a loss, as the Boilermakers claimed victory with 715.5 points.

Freshman swimmer makes splash

Butler freshman swimmer Amanda Wagner has found great success this year in the pool. “Amanda is a great kid,” said Maurice Stewart Butler swim coach. “She’s been a tremendous asset as a member of the team. “I thought that she transitioned to Butler University very well, and she is greatly respected by all her teammates.”
