Andrew Horstmann, former head chef at Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) sorority, was arrested and charged with eight counts of crimes regarding child pornography and possession — dating back to 2023 — on May 21, 2025. His $1,950 bond was paid six days later.

These eight charges consist of four counts of possession of child pornography, one of which includes an aggravating factor, and four counts of child exploitation, one of which also includes an aggravating factor.

Child exploitation implies the knowing distribution of child pornography. Aggravating factors of exploitation can refer to situations wherein the child: engages in bestiality, is mentally deficient or disabled, is threatened or forced, physically or verbally resists, is injured from sexual conduct or is under the age of 12. The specific details of his charges have not been released.

At the time of Horstmann’s arrest, he was not working at Tri Delta, having been released from his contract in April for unrelated matters. Tri Delta has no involvement in the legal proceedings.

However, as Horstmann’s alleged crimes were committed on campus, using Butler University’s IP address, Butler is associated with the ongoing case.

Brianna Jack, current chapter president of Tri Delta, gave a statement to the Collegian regarding Horstmann’s connection to their chapter.

“He was an employee of College Fresh, and this is all being handled by [Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department],” Jack said. “It doesn’t really involve Tri Delta at all, or the chapter house.”

His jury trial is set to occur on Jan. 13, 2026.

The Butler Collegian will continue to report on this story
