The Butler Bulldogs came away with a 2-1 victory today against Loyola University.
David Goldsmith broke a 1-1 tie with a goal with less than 16 minutes to play. It was Goldsmith’s fourth goal of the season.
Caleb Postlewait was credited with the assist.
Head coach Paul Snape was happy that his team got their third win of the season.
“We were patient,” Snape said, “and we got a great goal at the end but it was because we were passing the ball.”
Jeff Adkins got the Bulldogs (3-2-3) on the board as he drove his fourth goal of the season into the back of the net with 17 minutes to play in the first half.
Loyola (3-2-0) countered with a gaol of its own six minutes later, as Brody Kraussel and scored to tie the game.
The Bulldogs outshot the Ramblers 9-4 in the first half and 12-7 in the contest.
Butler goalie Andy Holte had one save and Loyola goalie Tim Dobrowolski had three.
The Bulldogs host Evansville University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
