The hours at the Health Services Center have been extended on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Julie Howerton, director of health services, said this extra hour is “to allow for students who have late classes access to the available services”.

The center is still open from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays, but will stay open until 5:00 p.m. on the three other weekdays.

The extension of hours is focused on helping students who have classes all day, like junior biology major Brock Stader, and to be able to schedule appointments more easily.

“The extra hour is huge for me,” Stader said. “I normally get out of class at 3 p.m., and leaving the health services open until 5 p.m. adds more time slots for students to reserve later in the day.”

Additionally, the extra hour will help free up the middle of the day for students like  sophomore business major Talia Slowinski.

Howerton said if students are currently sick she suggests coming to health services instead of going to class.

“Everyone’s health is their personal responsibility as well as their responsibility for others’ health,” Howerton said.
