The Fall Season is upon us and with that, comes interesting, unique drink orders at Starbucks. Two Butler students who also have worked as baristas at Starbucks for about a year, Ken Shiozawa and Nathaniel Tyson, shared the most interesting drinks they or their friends have had to make for the students at Butler.
Witch’s Brew
The Witch’s Brew is this year’s Halloween themed Frappuccino. It consists of chia seeds, purple orange creamsicle powder and whipped cream topped with green colored sugar. It’s bright green and purple color makes it a stand-out choice. Both Shiozawa and Tyson agree that it was probably the most interesting or crazy drink they’ve had to make.
Christmas Cookie
In addition to interesting Halloween themed drinks, Starbucks has also come out with Christmas themed drinks in the past. One of these drinks is the Christmas Cookie Frappuccino. It consists of vanilla bean powder, peppermint syrup, toffee nut syrup and is topped with caramel drizzle. Shiozawa mentioned this Frappuccino as being another interesting drink his co-workers have had to make, due to the requiring more steps than a normal Frappuccino.
Salted Caramel Mocha and Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Fall is pumpkin spice season according to the Starbucks seasonal drink roster. When it comes to drinks that have a cult following, these fall-themed drinks definitely come to mind. Shiozawa and Tyson agree these are two commonly ordered drinks during the colder months.
Peppermint Mocha
When asked what he would recommend to Collegian readers, Shiozawa stuck to his seasonal favorite: the peppermint mocha. This holiday classic is made with Starbucks signature espresso, steamed milk, sweet mocha sauce and peppermint syrup. It also includes whipped cream and dark chocolate curls on top.
Mango Dragon Fruit Refresher
For those willing to sport cold drinks in the cooler months, Tyson recommends the mango dragon fruit refresher. The refresher is made using mango and dragon fruit flavors, shaking them with ice and adding a scoop of diced dragon fruit.
Zebra Hot Chocolate/Mocha
For warm drinks, Tyson also mentioned the zebra hot chocolate or mocha. This lesser known secret menu Starbucks item consists of ordering either a hot chocolate or a mocha and adding both milk and white chocolate to it.
