Last week, 10 crimes were reported to the Butler University Police Department between April 9 and April 16, which included three incidents at separate sororities and three possession of marijuana arrests.

BUPD was not able to provide more information on these incidents before the time of publication.

There were three sorority organizations mentioned on the crime log this week: Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Police reported to Alpha Chi on April 15 in response to a drug investigation that occurred on the sorority’s property. A member of the sorority said BUPD was not called in response to one of their members. Instead, sorority members caught non-members with drugs on the property.

Both Delta Gamma and Kappa Kappa Gamma sororities were the locations of possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor arrests. Both incidents happened on April 13 and resulted in closed summons arrests.

A closed summons arrest is an arrest that goes on someone’s permanent record.

Also this week an incident occured where individuals were cited with possession of marijuana. On April 9 there was an incident on the corner of 52nd Street and Cornelius Avenue, and two people were caught with the substance. The incident resulted in a closed subject arrest.

Two thefts were also reported to BUPD this week; police are still investigating one of them.

On April 9, a theft was reported to BUPD from an off-campus location. The crime log reports the incident is inactive as the stolen material was later recovered.

Then on April 15, BUPD responded to a report of theft from ResCo. This incident was assigned to the university police investigations, according to the BUPD Daily Crime Log.
