Kristen Spolyar led Bulldogs with 21 points as the Butler women’s basketball team defeated Providence in overtime to advance to the Big East Tournament quarterfinals.
Butler dominated the three point line but Marquette held off the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter.
Junior guard Sydney Buck has struggled and fought her way back onto the court after suffering an early-season injury this year. Her work ethic and leadership continue to influence her underclassmen teammates throughout the season.
A total of 24 turnovers, including several in the final few minutes, doom Bulldogs from getting a win against Georgetown. Butler has not won since the overtime victory at Xavier on Jan. 8.
