The Butler volleyball team got back on track Friday night, sweeping Georgetown in Washington D.C. The road victory boosted Butler’s record to 11-17 (7-8 Big East). Georgetown fell to 10-19 (4-12 Big East) with the loss.
Freshmen Anna Logan and Briana Lilly were star contributors for the Bulldogs. Logan recorded 10 kills, eight digs and five blocks, while Lilly added nine kills, four digs and four blocks.
Head coach Sharon Clark walked away pleased with her team’s performance.
“We kept them off the court,” Clark said. “We kept them out of system and unable to set to their preferred hitters, and it felt great to play well.”
Sophomore Makayla Ferguson posted a team-high 28-assists to propel the ‘Dawgs to the 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 win. Redshirt freshman Whitney Beck said the win gives the the team some momentum heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Creighton Blue Jays.
“We really needed the win after the tough loss against Seton Hall,” she said. “It was a big confidence booster.”
Creighton stands at 21-8 (15-1 Big East) on the season. They have already clinched the Big East regular-season title.
