Butler reported to join Big East next season

ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Andy Katz and Dana O’Neil have reported Butler will join the “Catholic 7” segment of the Big East next season. The Butler Collegian reported in December that the Big East would be splitting and Butler was considering joining the Catholic 7, despite being in its first season in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Butler not ruling out new conference

Butler is not ruling out the possibility of switching athletic conferences again. Just a few months after the move from the Horizon League to the Atlantic 10 Conference, Butler President Jim Danko is neither confirming nor denying any rumors that Butler could switch conferences again. Danko sent out an email to the university community on
