Butler women’s basketball wins Big East home opener against Seton Hall

In their Big East home opener, the Butler women’s basketball team eked out a 62-59 victory over Seton Hall on Jan. 4. The team is now 3-0 in conference play and 13-1 overall.

Tori Schickel recorded yet another double-double by scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Katherine Strong, on the other hand, posted her first double-double in the contest, tallying 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Whitney Jennings had 17 points and four rebounds in the game. Michelle Weaver also made her mark on the stat sheet, with five steals and five assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action at home on Sunday Jan. 6, when they face St. John’s at 1 p.m.
