Aided by an all-around attack, the Butler women’s basketball team defeated Eastern Michigan, 73-63, in day two of the Palm Beach Invitational. The Bulldogs are now 10-1 on the season.

Tori Schickel rebounded from a game in which she was missing shots with her usual 15 points and seven rebounds. After tying a career-high with 25 points last game, Michelle Weaver dropped her third-highest total of the year with 15.

Weaver added six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Also, Whitney Jennings and Kristen Spolyar had 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Butler was strong from start to finish, with at least 40 percent shooting in each quarter. The Bulldogs mostly scored inside, scoring 46 points in the paint. They also played solid defense, recording 14 points off Eastern Michigan turnovers.

Butler’s next game comes in eight days, on Dec. 29 against Villanova, the start of Big East play.
