Butler women’s tennis sweeps Southern Indiana

The Butler University women’s tennis team defeated Southern Indiana 7-0 on Saturday, March 17. 

Butler took the early lead by winning on all three courts to steal the doubles point. Bailey Padgett and Jordan Minnick won their match 6-0 at the No. 1 spot in doubles play.

The Bulldogs won on all six courts in singles play to complete the sweep.

Padgett won at her usual No.1 position 6-0 and 6-1 over Lauren Hambrock. Nina Bertino defeated Kelsey Shipman 6-0 and 6-2 at the No. 2 position in singles. Lauren Marx won 6-4 and 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Callie Schmit, Natale Corrigan and Minnick were also victorious in singles play.

Butler will return to play against Big East opponent Villanova at home on Friday, March 23.
