On Jan. 28, Butler Ambassadors for Special Olympics, BASO, partnered with Indiana Special Olympics, ISO, to host their annual Polar Plunge event outside of the Health and Recreation Center. During the event, participants jumped into freezing water in an effort to help raise money for ISO. Some participants even went as far as to dress up for the occasion, with outfits ranging from penguins to Elvis. This particular event hosted around 200 participants and raised a total of almost $50,000. However, this was only the first of 18 plunge events that will occur across the state this winter, all with the same goal: raising money for ISO by making a splash.
