No. 3 Ohio State sweeps Butler men’s tennis

The Butler University men’s tennis team fell to the Ohio State University Buckeyes Jan. 24 in a 0-4 match.

The No. 3 Buckeyes beat the Bulldogs in all singles and doubles match. Sophomore Temilope Adelakun earned the lone set match for the team over Alex Kobelt in the second set.

The No.1 doubles pairing for the Bulldogs of sophomores Aviv Ben Shabat and Ari Gerstein lost 0-6.

In the singles rounds, sophomores Mason Dragos, Spencer Lang, and Gerstein lost their respective matches in the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 slots. Dragos’ Buckeye opponent, Martin Joyce, currently ranks 53rd in the nation.

The Bulldogs record moves to an even 1-1 on the season. The team heads to Valparaiso University on Feb. 3 looking to improve their record. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
