Butler University Student Foundation organized the annual I <3 BU Week to excite students for the Butler basketball season with events and rewards throughout the week.  

        Students can go to Starbucks each day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for fun activities and a chance to earn punches on their punch card, which can be picked up outside Starbucks as well. Bulldogs can earn four punches to redeem a prize on Thursday at Philanthropy Awareness Day, or PhAD, which celebrates and thanks all of Butler’s donors.

Prizes include a free t-shirt or a chance to win a Starbucks gift basket. If you need any other reason to come out and be apart of this week take it from Kate Holtz, one of the directors of the event who says, “it’s fun to just promote school spirit and the dawgs, because of course we all love Butler… The whole week is great especially for the students, because the whole week is for the students.”  

        Junior and BUSF executive member Eric Davidson is one member excited to see students show Butler pride this week.

“[The] best part of the week is to show off pride for this amazing university,” Davidson said.
“Who doesn’t love a free t-shirt that says we love our home?” BUSF is giving away 100 of these t-shirts for the students who redeem all their punches on the BU Week punch card.

Another goal of this week is to show appreciation to donors who support Butler academic scholarships that allow many students the opportunity to go here.

“92 percent of Butler students receive scholarships from outside donors which is amazing,” Davidson said.

Tomorrow’s PhAD Day provides the opportunity to celebrate and say thank you to the donors who make coming to Butler a possibility.

Wednesday: Show your BU pride by wearing Butler gear and stop by Starbucks to show off your gear! Receive an “I ♥ BU” pin. *Wear your Butler gear and earn your punch*

Thursday: Come to the Butler Bookstore to celebrate PhAD! Philanthropy Awareness Day (PhAD) gives students the chance to sign thank you cards for the donors who help make Butler the amazing school it is today. Stop by for games, prizes, t-shirts, cookies and more! *Sign a thank-you note for a donor and earn your punch*

After this fourth and final punch you can redeem your I ♥ BU punch card for a free I ♥ BU T-SHIRT or a chance to win a Starbucks gift basket (supplies limited).
