Butler-Franklin Game Notes

The men’s basketball team has its final exhibition game today, tipping off at 2:00 vs. Franklin College in the newly renovated Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Tale of the Tape

Butler won its first exhibition last Saturday against the University of Chicago 88-45.

This is the first exhibition of the year for Franklin (D-III school located in Franklin, Ind.)

The game is not on TV today, but can be found on 1070 AM The Fan.

Things to watch for:

Butler freshman Tyler Wideman will be making his debut after clearing concussion protocol.

Butler’s Roosevelt Jones returned last week after sitting out last season due to a broken wrist. He had eight points, eight assists and five steals. New head coach Chris Holtmann said Jones will be handling the ball more this year, assuming the point guard position, especially at times when starter Alex Barlow is on the bench.

All 11 Bulldogs played in the first exhibition, and nine of 11 scored. Kellen Dunham led the team with 18 points.

What’s next?

The Bulldogs open the regular season next week, Sat. Nov. 15 against Maine at Hinkle.

The Grizzlies also open their regular season on Saturday on the road at Wheaton.
