Butler women’s cross country finishes fourth in Big East Championships

The Butler women’s cross country team finished fourth out of ten teams in the 2018 Big East Cross Country Championships in Carmel, Ind.

Josephine Thestrup finished ninth overall with a time of 21:06.2. Angelina Ellis trailed behind at 21:30.0 to finish 15th overall. Following Ellis were Camille Hines and Margo Hornocker, who finished at 21:48.7 — 23rd — and 22:04.5 — 29th — , respectively.

Villanova came out victorious with 21 points. Georgetown finished with 73 points, followed by  Providence with 76 points. Butler, the host, finished with 91 points.

Overall, Thestrup earned All-Big East first team honors and Ellis landed on the All-Big East second team.

The Bulldogs’ next race is the Great Lakes Regional, Nov. 9th in Terre Haute, Indiana.
