Butler women’s lacrosse drops competitive match to Cincinnati

The Butler University women’s lacrosse team fell 14-8 to the University of Cincinnati on April 21.Butler dropped to 1-15, (0-8 Big East) on the season.

The match served as Butler’s senior day.



The Bulldogs scrapped and clawed throughout the entire match, trailing 9-8 with 15 minutes to play. Redshirt junior midfielder Haley Hallenbeck paced the Butler offense, scoring two goals.

“The energy on the field was electric,” Hallenbeck said. “Our offense executed plays really well.”

Freshman goalie Amanda Ramsey tallied seven saves, while sophomore goalie Haley Rayburn posted 10. Each played for one half.

“Today, things clicked and it just felt right,” sophomore midfielder Ashley Lizzi said. Lizzi also recorded a goal in the game. “We don’t always get that opportunity in conference play.”



Butler will close the season at the University of Florida. First draw is scheduled for noon on April 28.
