Butler women’s golf finishes 14th at Yale Invitational

The Butler University women’s golf team finished 14th out of 17 teams at the Yale Women’s Fall Intercollegiate from Oct. 5 to Oct. 7.

The Bulldogs were led by senior Lauren Tibbets, who shot 73 in her final two rounds. With a final score of 10-over 223, Tibbets finished in a tie for 12th.

Allison Kinsinger was the second-best Bulldog, scoring 240 overall to finish 55th. Her best round was a 74 on Saturday.

The other three golfers for Butler were Ally Ross, scoring 247 to tie for 69th, Megan Skoog, scoring 249 to tie for 72nd and Claire Edwards, scoring 251 to tie for 77th.

As a team, Butler finished 14th with rounds of 326, 309 and 318 for a total of 953. The top three were Boston University with 890 points, Stirling of Scotland (895), and Seton Hall University (898).

The event was won by Hanako Kawasaki of Boston University. She carded a two-under 211. One stroke back was Kaitleen Shee of St. John’s.

The Bulldogs will compete next at the Evansville Invitational on Oct. 22 for their final fall competition.
