Butler women’s basketball Big East schedule released

The Butler women’s basketball team will open up Big East Conference play on the road against Villanova on Dec. 29, the Big East Conference announced Monday as the conference schedule was released. The matchup will come almost exactly one year after the Bulldogs upset the Wildcats, ranked 21st at the time, 76-53 for their first Big East win last season.

Butler will travel to the nation’s capital to take on Georgetown in their second game of conference play on Dec. 31. They’ll then return to Hinkle for their Big East home opener against Seton Hall on Jan. 4.

Defending Big East Tournament champion DePaul will come to town on Jan. 25, with the Bulldogs traveling to take on the Blue Demons on Feb. 24.

Butler will close out their conference season with home matchups against Georgetown and Villanova on March 1 and 3, respectively.

After participating in the West Palm Invitational in Florida from Dec. 20-21 to wrap up non-conference action, Butler will have roughly a week before the start of Big East play.
