The Butler University softball team fell to Ball State University on March 22. The Cardinals took a 10-2 decision in five innings.

The Bulldogs fell to 11-16 on the season. This was their final non-conference game before starting Big East play against DePaul University on March 25.

Junior pitcher Mikeila Boroff took the loss for Butler.

The Bulldogs scored their first run in the top of the third inning, courtesy of a one-out RBI double from junior outfielder Sarah Dixon. Butler scored its final run in the top of the fifth, as a pair of errors allowed sophomore outfielder Jenna Foreman to come around and score.

Foreman said she is excited to come back home.

“I feel good playing at home,” Foreman said. “We have a nice field and don’t have to worry about traveling.”

The doubleheader against DePaul begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The second game will begin immediately after the first game.

“[Conference play] feels great,” Foreman said. “I am very excited to start chasing another dream.”
