Junior David Goldsmith netted a pair of goals, including the overtime game-winner, and the Butler men’s soccer team defeated Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis 3-2 on the road Tuesday night.

These were the first two goals of the year for Goldsmith, and the Bulldogs are now on a two-game winning streak after a win at Wisconsin University Aug. 28.

Senior Vincent Mitchell scored the Bulldogs first goal of the game in the 33rd minute with an assist from Eric Leonard.

Goldsmith’s first goal came in the end of the first half with an assist from Charlie Constantino.

The Jaguars kept pace with one goal in the first half and another goal in the second to send the game into overtime.

In the second minute of overtime, Goldsmith got a pass from Vincent Mitchell and Eric Leonard to score the go-ahead goal to win the game for the Bulldogs.

Butler plays again this Saturday at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m.
