Bulldogs show fight at weekend invitational

Butler competed at the River Forest Collegiate Tennis Invitational against seven other Division 1 college teams this weekend.

The Bulldogs had strong showings in both the singles and doubles tournaments.

Tommy Marx and Sam O’Neill competed in the Flight A singles tournament with Marx making it to the consolation finals in that bracket.

Brandon Woods and Pulok Bhattacharya competed in flight B singles.

Bhattacharya also made it into the consolation finals.

Alex Woldmoe and Billy Weldon competed in singles flight C, both winning their first two matches and falling short in their third.

The duo wound up competing against one another in the third place match with Woldmoe coming out on top.

O’Neill and Weldon competed in a doubles tournament and made it to the consolation finals.

The doubles team of Woldmoe and Marx, as well as the team of Austin Woldmoe and Woods, each won their bracket.

The team will take part in the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette this weekend.
