Butler women’s cross country wins John McNichols Invitational

The Butler women’s cross country team came in first at the John McNichols Invitational on Sept. 15, marking the second win in a row for the team. Josephine Thestrup won the race with a time of 17:47.

She was followed by Camille Hines (18:14) and Angelina Ellis (18:18), who finished fourth and sixth respectively.

Just behind Ellis was Maddie McLain, trailing by a mere second. Margo Hornocker (18:39, 15th), Mia Beckham (19:01, 32nd), and Corinna Pena (19:08, 38th) were the next three runners to finish for Butler.

Butler beat 11 teams, finishing with a total of 33 points. Competing with Butler in Terre Haute were Indiana State, Purdue, Bowling Green, Akron, Cincinnati, DePauw, Indianapolis, Marshall, Milwaukee, Northern Illinois and Rose-Hulman.

The Bulldog women will vie for a third consecutive victory when they travel to Madison for the Nuttycombe Invitational on Sept. 28th.
