In their final non-conference game of the season, Butler’s men’s tennis team defeated IUPUI by a score of 5-2.

Butler won all three doubles matchups, giving them an initial 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs dominated singles play, winning the first four matchups, to give them a 5-0 advantage. All four of these wins came in straight sets.

Michael Dickson had the most convincing victory, only surrendering two games. The sets ended with scores of 6-2 and 6-0.

Incidentally, the only matchups to reach a third set coincided with Butler’s losses.

For the second consecutive match, Butler surrendered the No.1 spot singles point, with Mason Dragos falling to David Beasley.

Because of Butler’s five-point lead, clinching the win for the Bulldogs, the third set was decided by a tiebreaker.

So was the case in Adrian Mag’s matchup as well, surrendering a point for an overall final score of 5-2.

The win improves Butler’s record to 13-4, with three matches remaining, all within the Big East.

The first comes on April 13, when the Bulldogs return to the court to face Marquette in Milwaukee. The team will travel to Chicago to take on DePaul the following day.
