The Butler University women’s tennis team ended their three-game win streak this weekend against Oakland and Akron. The Bulldogs are now 6-10 on the season.
Oakland defeated Butler 4-3 in a close match.
Bailey Padgett and Jordan Minnick won their match at No. 1 doubles. Rachel Sutton and Emily Neal won their match at No. 2 doubles to give the Bulldogs the early lead of 1-0.
Padgett and Sutton were the only Bulldogs to bring home wins in singles play allowing the Golden Grizzlies to take four points in singles.
After their match against Oakland, Butler added to their weekend of losses, losing to Akron 0-7.
The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point with three losses to Akron.
Akron then swept the singles play to win the match 7-0. The Bulldogs played without Bailey Padgett, the usual No. 1 singles player.
The Bulldogs’ next match will be away against Illinois State on Mar. 10.
