Asst. men’s basketball coach could be headed to Purdue next year

Butler men’s basketball assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry will be an assistant at Purdue next season, according to a source close to the program.

Shrewsberry and former Indiana University guard Dan Fife were considered the two finalists for the job, left vacant after Mike Jackson turned in his resignation Wednesday.

Shrewsberry served as Butler’s director of basketball operations from 2007 to 2008, before being named an assistant coach the next season. He has been a lead recruiter for the Bulldogs, who have appeared in consecutive national title games during his short time at Butler.

The Butler athletic department cannot confirm or deny this information at this time, but an announcement from the Purdue athletic department is expected early next week.
